My favorite parts this week #2:

In another recent article we learned about ETrade Korea getting started. Good news about Korea is it's a market very amenable to online trading, is in fact one of the most advanced online trading markets out there. Bad news is it's really competitive, and sounds like a bloodbath for any newcomer. Here's my favorite bit

"LG Securities ranked No. 2 in online dealing, handling some 3.15 trillion won worth of transactions in 1998, about half the amount of market leader Daishin Securities. According to Lehman Brothers, LG Securities' market share stands at about 14 percent of the online total, or roughly five percent of turnover on the Korea Stock Exchange."

Nice knowing that ETrade has a connection close to the top...
