GraphOn Acquires Patent for MS Windows on Linux/UNIX

In a move that further strengthened GraphOn's position in the industry, last week the company announced that it has acquired a U.S. patent for the remote display of Microsoft Windows applications on UNIX and Linux desktops with X Windows. As a result, GraphOn has patent protection and licensing rights for the deployment of all Windows applications remoted, or displayed, over a network or any other type of connection to any X Window system. The patent includes GraphOn's WinBridge (formerly jBridge - see below) technology that enables multi-platform access of 32-bit Windows applications over the Internet. The technology covered by the patent was originally developed by a team of engineers formerly with Exodus Technology and hired by GraphOn in May of 1998.
