re: on wireless changing computerdom

-online personal databases, access from anywhere, with any communication device

-servers will be the bread and butter for PC companies, they will no longer be called PC companies. DELL will have to morph, it is showing signs of do so now. Maybe the term wireless server will be coined.

-the ability to print to any printer as long as you have the printer address and password, no more sneaker nets, and having to carry storage down to the local print shop just carry along your handheld and punch a few buttons, not only will set up the down load to print, you will pay too with your handheld.

-to go along with your convergence, the term phone will disappear, communicator or mobile will be used.

-The term PC will also disappear, they will become furnace like and be installed in the basement, all new house will come with one just like a furnace with wireless home nets.

-as voice recognition become more pervasive, people will use keyboards less and less.

-The web will become more like a blanket, it will be just there, not something you have to set down to use. The term WEB will also go to the wayside. As we become more mobile in out data/voice communication the term un-tethered computing will be seen more, even the word computing will disappear after awhile, it will be just be a way of life.

Waydown the road.

-The office layout could change with cubicles a thing of the past.

-Paperless offices will become a reality, with the ability to beam information to fellow workers. HWP, will be in deep trouble and will have to morph Maybe HWP should buy QCOMs handset div. <g>!

-When a salesmen makes a call he will beam his pamphlets and presentation for future review to all customers in the room. As will anyone that is making presentation. Come to think about it, all he will have to beam are the address for the information, a short synopsis if you will with hyperlinks to the rest..
