Democrats love to talk about how the minmum wage is not a living wage. Did you know that an incredibily small percentage of minimum wage earners are actually head of household. Most are teens in their first jobs.

You've got to start somewhere in your working life. I remember making $1.15 an hour at Dairy Queen in the early seventies. I know the owner didn't make much money and if he had to pay considerably higher wages, he'd either be out of business or raising prices. But raising prices cuts down on business and would defeat the purpose.

The low wage was all I deserved for the lack of skill I had. The low wage also encouraged me to learn something so I could make more money in the future.

You understand that if you raise the minumum wage, then everyone elses wages rachet up as well, don't you? Of course, you probably think this is great, until the prices you pay for goods go up too.

Hey, I've got an idea, if it doesn't hurt the economy to raise the minumum wage, why don't we just raise it up to let's say $15 an hour right now. That's $30,000 a year for a full-time worker. Of course, the part-time high-school burger flippers will take home $15,000 a year--not bad for an after school job. But, you won't want to pay for one of those burgers then. You'll probably be the first in the streets picketing McDonalds because the price of their food is too expensive and the poor can no longer afford it there.

Where does it end?
