I appreciated that post earlier and still have it bookmarked.

Thomson's announcement went mostly unnoticed this week. They are the leading TV OEM in the US with 5M/annum (+/- 10%). To include the guide in virtually all TV models raised my estimate for TMS in 2000 from 2.5M to 4M guide units. Sony, Matsushita, Philips, Zenith and the rest must compete for marketshare. I expect them to come down from their cautious middle-high to high end deployment approach sooner than anticipated.

I expect at least 2 Japanese CE OEMS to include the Telecruz chip in their TV models and for it to be announced in January at the CE 2000 Show.

The only reservation I have is that news will be held tightly
and/or low profiled because of the HSR review. Any flexing of primate muscle may present untimely problems for the merger.
