No... I knew that. But the original discussion was about ancient (old-growth) forests and protesting. JLA then said "a tree is a tree". If you accept that (that a tree is a tree) it skews the entire argument. I assumed you were posting a follow-on comment to that topic... weren't you? If not, ummmm.... sorry.... I picked the wrong post to make my point then. But since we're here, lets put it this way - if Maxxim and the Fisher family were chopping down Juniper bushes willy-nilly we wouldn't be having this discussion. BTW I dispute your claims that as the wealth of a nation grows so does its environmental acuity. For example, the US vs. Africa... we killed what, 60 million Buffalos in 10 years as a developing nation (the key word being developing) whereas Kenya and Tanzania allowed their native habitats continue because they simply were not developing... and that is why the Serengeti and Maasai Mara exist today, imo.
