Where is Sparky? Out driving that classic 55 Chevy perhaps. WTT was awesome at one time. It would be interesting to investigate the history to see what has gone on there. Is Jim still around following the money?
I owned ESST for a few minutes Friday, then decided that candle-to-be wasn't one I wanted to live with over the weedend, but a good stock for sure.
Here are some stocks that came up in my fundies search last week, some have already moved, some have not.
CPWR, AEOS, TROW, QRSI, CMED, BBBY, HAIN, APCC, WATR, BELFA, NLCS, LYTS (I am long in CPWR and BBBY, I missed some of those that have already jumped, but I will catch some of them on the next little reversal)
I have not messed with NYSE stocks all year due to their antique system and rules. The NASDAQ electronic data is hard to beat now that the collusion is not allowed. With Level II data I see funny things still going on occasionally. I have noticed that the recent high flying online brokerage stocks were especially funny. I avoid them. I don't like this after hours trading -- suspicious stuff going on there too. Some of it may be due to the liquidity problem after hours. Some of it should be illegal. For example, a stock closes at Bid 55 Ask 55 1/4 then 30 minutes before the open some dealer enters an ASK of 22. What the public sees as the inside (or best BID and ASK) is 55 and 22. This scares people to death so they sell. That is what the instigator, who was probably heavy short, wanted to happen. The instigator would probably just say it was a mistake if called on it. I have also seen poor souls paying 119 when the current inside bid and ask was 115 115 1/2. Perhaps it was a limit order, but even so it doesn't look right. How get I get carried away on that subject? |
