FWIW- my husband says oaks like crevices and arroyos- where water collects in the rains. He has been doing his tree thing for a while- and he checks up on his babies now and then. He has also taken to chucking seeds from his car- but I have told him the Highway patrol is NEVER going to believe him when they pull him over for littering- and that's a BIG fine.
