A lot of us were singing a different tune. I bought
more at 18.00. I did my dd. I checked their record.
The stock looked solid at that price. Now I wear sack
cloth and ashes. Take a look at EBC.A. Similar story.
If you're not in Nortel or BCE, you're getting pounded
on the "value" companies. My only consolation, as little
as it is, is that the columnists in the G&M and the
NP are singing the same blues. The narrowness of the
market is exceptional. There have been trading
opportunities, especially in the technical stocks,
but the blue chips, profit making, companies have
taken a beating at a time when bank savings accounts
have been paying one half percent.

Three different brokers I know have been hot on REITS
but I noticed a little article saying that ICBC is
selling of its real estate. Interesting contradiction.
I'm learning to not buy when the brokers are all agreed.
They've either got paper they want to sell or the market
has peaked. More than once I've seen them sell into their
own recommendations.

Are TRP, EBC.A, Bombardier, etc. taking a beating because
the US and Can govts are expecting a surge in inflation?
Is that enough to drive blue chip stocks to these levels?
FAP which has paid a terrific dividend for a number of
years is lower than I've ever seen it since I've started
tracking it. I thought nine dollars would be the bottom.
Nope.
