One of several mixed reviews I've seen for I'82:

sharkyextreme.com

The multi-player aspect of Interstate '82 is so horribly terribly bad, it makes us want to gouge our eyes out with plastic sporks to distract us from the pain. While there is an in-game tracker through WON.net and there are a few forms of multi-play, the network code left us in awe. Granted, it wasn't as bad as Drakan, but it was close! Don't even bother playing over the Internet. If you do, you'll hate yourself and Activision.

In the end, Interstate '82 is a decent and easy game that is tied together with an engrossingly hilarious plot. The levels are well done and the control is fun but the graphics are poor. If you're looking for a funny game that's more plot oriented than play oriented, Interstate '82 may be the thing for you. But if you're looking for a serious driving game or a direct sequel to Interstate '76, you won't find it here.
