I have followed a number of IPO related sympathy plays. The very high flying tech IPO's do have coattails especially when the market sector involved has fewer entries. Volume and value increases are fairly common. The ones that I have followed seem to have the most definitive reaction on the day that shares begin trading for the related IPO. In this case, NTPL seems to be substantially undervalued and has a lower float.
I would like to suggest that because NTPL trades under $10 that that would offer an additional advantage. Except that $100 stocks can move $20 in a day in this market.
