kemble - re: Bonded quite a large sum of money so the building could start immediately...And, I believe DELL is getting the LCD's on priority due to this.. The Samsung press at the time said that this would begin to yield LCDs in 2001... there was no talk from them about any fix for near-term availability. I think this was a strategic move to develop a long term fix to the LCD problems, not a tactical fix. Clearly DELL's investment may give them better leverage on allocated parts but that was not the intent of the deal.
