I'm using a Gateway 3150 PC, Windows 98 and my clock reverts to 1 hour and twelve minutes fast (ahead of real time) every time I boot up no matter what time I set it for before I Shut down

You need to enter the system setup and reset the clock. This is the internal clock of the computer. What you have been changing is a dos based clock program that gets it's time reset from the internal clock every time you reboot.

Could you rephrase what shift click means and end of series?
