ALSO, re:HDR, Has Tim Driesbach gotten in wrong here?....
"I don't want to comment here about Qualcomm, they're a very good company. Let's comment about the technologies, Ricochet's microcellular technology and the CDMA technology, as I said earlier, is really optimized around voice and they're now trying to be built around data. We were optimized around data right from the beginning. We have the fastest wireless data network today with our Ricochet 1, there is no one faster. With Ricochet 2 at 128, for the next 2-3 years we will be faster, and frankly for the foreseeable future, as you look at other technologies, some of the larger carriers that have gone away from HDR and other experiments because it has yet to be proven that those technologies can deliver high speeds to the end user, as seen by the end user in capacity. And, I know there's been a lot of debate about speeds in how many bits per second, the real question your audience should ask is how many bits per second delivered per user as seen by the end user, or how many bits per second per square mile as seen by the investor who has to put up infrastructure, investment infrastructure." |
