When those Marines were killed in Beirut, Reagan brought the rest of them home, rather than lose more life. A rather pacifist thing to do.

The Rangers in Somalia were killed and dragged through the streets because they were denied APC's and other light armor by Les Aspin.

Regarding the "slaughter" on the road away from Kuwait, true enough, it was begun, but soon stopped because they were shooting fish in a barrel. It was the honorable thing to do.
