Getting back on subject, I was watching a program on TV this morning with my 5 year old. It showed kids in Spain celebrating Christmas. Instead of a Christmas tree they brought in a large log inside and placed it on the floor. They stuck stickers on the end to make it look like eyes and a nose. They next covered all but the end of it with blanket and left the room. When they came back they all had a stick and started beating the log while singing a song. They then pulled back the blanket to discover the gifts piled around the log. All my 5 year old wanted to know was if it was Santa who put the gifts by the log? Does anyone know anything about this tradition?
