Am I mistaken when say that ATHM has exclusivity with MSOs, Cox, Comcast, Rogers... for 5 years+ out?

The exclusivity starts fading over time section by section, its not that there is a fixed date when it all expires.

Responsibility for headends, nodes and other 'last mile' outlet is ATHMs or MSOs?

Here is my uncertain understanding I have achieved in asking this question many times:

The MSO's own & operate the headends and the field nodes. ATHM has its own equipment in the headends, but not in the field nodes. ATHM connects together the headends through its own leased lines. However ATHM manages the network all the way from the national data centers down to the users modem.

I also conjecture (without any proof) that ATHM and the MSO's work very closely when it comes to the architectural design of the HFC plant and the organization of the nodes relative to the user base. In fact I'll bet that in most cases ATHM did most of the work.

Anyone want to agree or disagree?
Eric
