BigBull, Just came in from talking with my neighbor who works for Varco and also with my neighbor who works for a big independent drilling company.

Sheesh! There must be at least 10 coyotes over on the golf course whooping it up right now and chasing those superfat jackrabbits (there's a few jackalopes too). As soon as I finish this note I'm grabbing my binoculars and crawling out onto one of the fairways and watching the action. Since it's 30 degrees any rattlesnake still above ground should be frozen solid.

My buddy at Varco says business is really, really picking up. From our perspective we are now running into both tubing and casing shortages (WFT get your tubular divison cracking - and right now!). We still plan to double the number of wells we drilled last year from 25 to 50 wells in the area where I work- and if we like what we see in our gas prospects, we'll even drill some more.... assuming that we can find rigs! This is important because we can make a whole lot of money right now in either oil or NG- so we want to drill, drill, drill.

The top line drilling companies' rigs like Nabors for e.g., are all booked right now- so we are forced to chase ever more deeply into the independent drillers to find rigs/crews ....

The big limiting factor right now for drillers- crews. Crews are hard to find- and experienced crew members- are as rare as hen's teeth. Has everybody gone over to work at tech companies???? Or Wal-mart?

Are we the last fools in resource development activities??? Well hell, who cares tonight anyway. It's a spectacular cold, crystal clear night here in West Texas. Both Jupiter and Saturn are rising in tandem tonight, with the constellation Orion (with the Crab Nebula) not far behind. A goodly number of meteors are also prividing a light show... Entertainment while we wait for the gang of coyotes to make an appearance with their eery wailing high-pitched howls.. Anyone know what that really bright white/blue star straight south of the three stars in Orion's belt is??? Arcturus? Just hope that no sprinklers come on, heh-heh....

So you're Irish huh Big Bull? Know who Willliam Fant was in Irish history?

AND FINALLY...look at XOM stock. I think that XOM will make a ton of money this year...Savings from the merger consolidation process combined with higher gas and oilprices- XOM should fly....
