DVD delay was only for audio players. In some of the news reports Pioneer who recently annouced their DVD recorder said it was still due in I believe first quarter (may have even said January). I follow Sonic Solutions which is a very speculative play on DVD authoring software. They are in the midst of a transition to new products which could pay off well long term.
