Classified Ventures Hires Integrator To Unify Web Sites -- Cysive tapped to build 'classified act' Dec. 05, 1999 (Computer Reseller News - CMP via COMTEX) -- Reston, Va. - Classified Ventures Inc. hired Cysive Inc. to build a common platform for its online classified sites. Cysive said it will work with Classified Ventures, a Web-based classified service comprising eight media companies that own more than 130 newspapers, to let different vertical Web sites share information and provide added ease of navigation between sites. For example, the Reston-based E-business provider expects to implement technology that would allow a potential buyer retrieving information from Apartments.com to get data on moving companies from its MovingCenter.com site. "The enhancements will create convenience and simplify the use of the sites for consumers and also will make life easier for Classified Ventures by centralizing technology resources," said Nelson Carbonell, president and chief executive of Cysive. "It will create efficiencies that allow for a very flexible E-business strategy for online resources critical in a time of warp-speed changes," he said. Cysive and Chicago-based Classified Ventures already worked together to design and build the cars.com site, which generates an average of 1.5 million page views per day. The integrator will complete the unification of the classified Web sites by the end of 2000, Carbonell said. "The development of this new common platform will help us to deliver enhanced performance as will the addition of new functionalities," said Rich Stebbins, chief technology officer of Classified Ventures. Cysive has built a strong reputation on Wall Street by positioning itself as an expert at building Internet commerce architectures. -0- By: David Jastrow Copyright 1999 CMP Media Inc. *** end of story ** |
