Wenzel Downhole Tools Announce Addition to Research and
Development Department

CALGARY, ALBERTA--As part of our continued commitment to Research
and Development, Wenzel Downhole Tools Ltd. is pleased to welcome
Mr. Nicu Cioceanu, - M. Sc., and P. Eng. - to our research and
development department. Mr. Cioceanu received a Masters of
Science in Aeronautical Engineering in July 1990 from the
Polytechnical Institute - Bucharest, Romania, Faculty of Aircraft
- Mechanical Engineering. In September of 1999 he qualified as a
P. Eng. in Alberta.

Mr. Cioceanu has been employed in the downhole tool industry since
1994. He has worked on the shop floor building tools, developed a
quality control program, held the position of quality control
manager, design engineer and finally project engineer. In his
most recent position, he designed downhole tools, provided
technical support for the processing, manufacturing and service
operations, developed prototypes of new tools and worked
independently on research and development of downhole tools.

His combination of formal engineering training and practical hands
on knowledge of how and why downhole tools work greatly increases
the Corporation's research capabilities on a go forward basis.
