Yikes! Again!

So what's the story THIS time. Poor yields? Seems to me poor yields are becoming so predictable they had better start pricing them into their bids and earning some money. I've always heard they could sell all the diodes they could produce so what is the excuse for such weak earnings other than bad bidding/management.

Do all laser diode mfg. have these yield problems? It seems doubtful that ATT would give a contract to a SDLI if they were know to be particularly unreliable on delivery or quality. Maybe they get contracts by underbidding?

Does anyone here have any knowledge of the progress SLIC is making with their new reactor which is supposed to have unprecidented yields. I consisdered SLIC speculative when I bought SDLI feeling reassured of a track record, customers, and patents. Today I'm thinking I should redefine "speculative".

I'm really not accusing the managment of anything here, and I am not trying micro manage but I would appreciate a decent explaination from the company. Maybe there is a fine explaination, lets here it!
