Why yes. It doesn't matter at all when its ET or even Poltergeist. With these films stark visuals and manipulation is pretty much what it is about. But yes, with Shindler's List, Amistad and now Ryan, a craftier hand, more attention to the drama within the mind is required. And Speilberg doesn't have it here. Tell me, as far as battle scenes go, what do you think of those found in Braveheart? Here we had some serious gore, but they struck me as about right. If so with you, then why the difference?
