Introduces New Subsidiary
JULY 6, 1999 (OTTAWA, CANADA) — VISTAR Telecommunications has launched a new entrant into the North American telecommunications market. The new company, VISTAR Datacom, delivers end-to-end, satellite-based communications services for asset management, monitoring and tracking.
Based in Washington, D.C. VISTAR Datacom, provides VISTAR's GlobalWave™ satellite data-gathering system to customers throughout North America. GlobalWave benefits businesses with mobile and remote assets including truck trailers, railcars, boats, heavy construction equipment, storage facilities, petroleum wellheads, pipelines and many other applications. VISTAR Datacom will market GlobalWave directly and through a network of distribution partners.
VISTAR was established as a center of excellence in the development of satellite and hybrid satellite/terrestrial wireless products and systems. Vistar recently completed a major equity financing arrangement with Canada's largest company, BCE Inc to support and expand its portfolio of innovative technology products. In addition to marketing GlobalWave in North America through its VISTAR Datacom subsidiary, associated distributors and value-added reseller partners, VISTAR is in the process of establishing worldwide distribution through licensing agreements with leading telecommunications companies.
