DS I'm no engineer so I can't give you 100% confirmation. However, one of the big selling features of the UNPH/JDS Fitel merger was the combination of active and passive component manufacturers. At the time, there was a lot of speculation that the merger would enable JDSU as the "one stop shop" for optical components. Presumably, with the capabilities of both firms combined, they can deliver products which will provide both the active and passive attributes from in house resources. mariner
