Today's US closing price is $715, up $15 from Friday's close here in the US. Although we are well over twice the market value of the 12 publicly traded Softbank holdings, some inside the Company still think the Company is undervalued. This is based on the non public Softbank holdings that are yet to be IPO'd.

I recall commenting that I would be happy with a year end Softbank price of $400. I think that Softbank was at $263 at that time of my last buy. Considering that my first buy was at $143/share last April, I thought it was daring to be buying again so soon after the stock had almost doubled. For a large Company, the year to date rise of over a factor of ten has been pretty amazing. I think Softbank qualifies as a large Company now at a market cap of $80 billion (number 5 on the Tokyo Exchange). Of course this has made Son the richest man in Japan by a large margin (with 43% of the Softbank stock).
