This doesn't look like anything new.

The judge asked both sides to file briefs for the findings of law. The DOJ has now laid out what it sees as MSFT's violations of the Sherman act. MSFT is expected to provide its brief later (January I think). There will be further oral arguments and then a ruling, all this barring a settlement of course.

The states have laid out what they see as violations of state laws; what's unclear to me is whether Jackson is in a position to rule on such matters, or whether this latest turn means the states have now brought 19 new actions in their respective courts.

This isn't what I got into high-tech investing for. I like looking at and thinking about technologies, not laws and lawyers. Another 6000 shares gone today, 2000 on a limit order at 97 and 4000 on a stop triggered at 96. 18000 left.
