Many long term shareholders hold this stock because of the dividend. Cut it and they'll run for the doors. Besides, the next round of dividends has already been declared, see newswire.ca for details.

Here's a good bit of DD posted on a position trading thread (an excellent thread, I might add) about TRP. The poster mentions 26 billion in assets but overlooked the 18 billion in liabilities and debt. The common shareholders equity (as of the third quarter financials) is 5.6 billion or about $12/share. Other than that the poster is right on the money and I've come to respect his opinion. I especially like the part about NG usage on the rise. I keep reading about fuel cells that use NG as a fuel (they don't burn it though) being used for 'Combined Heat and Power' applications and that it's just around the corner.
