Another great short, and without the risks associated with RHAT is BEOS. A quaint little company with a quaint little operating system, a quaint little market cap of 1/2 Billion dollars, and the quaint prospect of being too late to the party and finding the doors are now locked.

I'm short BEOS, but I don't think it's that simple. BE OS in its present incarnation is a joke. The issue with BEOS is whether it will become an important ingredient of Internet appliances. Also, will it attract the attention of players who want a piece of that market like SUNW. Contrary to what you say, the Internet appliance OS market does not have its doors locked. The doors are wide open, and it may be one of the few vulnerabilities in Microsoft's hegemony over operating systems.

Having said that, if you go by where I put my money, I'm very long MSFT and slightly short BEOS.
