Yes. A late-night TV icon (often spoofed on old Carson shows). He had several "signature" lines in his sales rap -- "Come see Cal!" "This is my dog spot (usually featuring some exotic animal)" and my favorite version of "trust me" -- Cal looking into the camera and swearing if he was wrong...."I'll eat a bug!"

I think he now has a number of new and used car dealerships in the Sacramento area.
