MONTREAL, QUEBEC--MediSolution Ltd. (TSE: MSH - news), Canada's leading provider of
information technology to the healthcare sector, announced today that it has signed a contract with
Soci‚t‚ de gestion informatique SOGIQUE, Inc., (under a mandate from the Qu‚bec Ministry of
Health and Social Services) to implement an integrated management technology to monitor all
transfusion and hemovigilance related activities. MediSolution will supply state-of-the-art
technology solution called Trace Line TM.

MediSolution President and Chief Executive Officer, R‚mi St-Hilaire and the President of the
Qu‚bec/Atlantic division, Jacques A. Nadeau stated: ``We are proud to have signed the contract
for this important healthcare project. It will serve the whole of the population of Qu‚bec, by
ensuring efficient and secure transfusion activities. This mandate exemplifies MediSolution's strategy
of providing leading IT products which are fully integrated at the local level, and within regional and
provincial networks. '

Mr St. Hilaire added: `` This contract will place MediSolution at the forefront of the blood

Mr. Claude Boisjoli, President and General Manager of SOGIQUE, said: ``The implementation of
this state-of-the-art solution is really the cornerstone of a system designed to manage all activities
related to transfusion and hemovigilance. It will enable the monitoring, management and distribution

The value of the contract is $10.9 million (Can.), and covers the implementation of Trace Line TM
at pilot sites and deployment in the overall Qu‚bec hospital network. Deployment includes the
training of personnel, complete technological support as well as conversion of existing data. The
pilot phase of the project will begin in December 1999 and the system is expected to be complete
and operational in all hospitals by April 1, 2002 at the latest. Over the next two years, the system
will be installed in some 100 Qu‚bec health institutions selected for blood bank management.

The Trace Line TM information system which is distributed in Qu‚bec by MediSolution, is a
product of Mak-System, a French company which is internationally renowned for its blood
management information systems. This system traces blood and blood derivatives from their arrival
at the blood bank, through the various steps up until their final destination. It is also able, in
connection with H‚ma-Qu‚bec, to efficiently retrace each blood product, from the original donor
to the receiver.

La Soci‚t‚ de gestion informatique SOGIQUE Inc., was mandated by the Qu‚bec Ministry of
Health and Social Services to act as manager of the establishment of an integrated transfusion and
hemovigilance information system. For further information on SOGIQUE, consult its Internet site at
