Bear Stearns weighed in this morning with positive remarks on the XIOtech acquisition:

<<<We feel that the XIOtech acquisition marks Seagate's expansion into the storage subsystems business and we foresee more acquisitions by Seagate in this space. Although XIOtech's products - the MAGNITUDE "SAN in a box" solution and the REDI software family - do compete with those of Seagate's customers like EMC, our sense after talking to Seagate's management is that the feedback from its customers has been quite positive so far.

Our sense is that the XIOtech acquisition provides Seagate another avenue to participate in the "intelligent storage" market space. Moreover, we feel that compared with other deals in the space like Dell's acquisition of Convergenet, the X10tech acquisition came in at a very favorable price for Seagate.>>>
