Certicom Appoints Richard P. Dalmazzi CEO

TORONTO, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Certicom Corp. today
announced that it has appointed Richard P. Dalmazzi to the position of chief
executive officer in addition to his existing role as president. Philip C.
Deck, who was previously chairman and CEO will remain chairman of the board.
Mr. Dalmazzi joined Certicom in July 1997 initially to lead the growth
and development of Certicom's sales and marketing operations based in
California. In September 1998, he was appointed president of Certicom.
