I suggest we begin by burning all of our hand-knotted oriental carpets. Well, my ex has a pov similar to yours I believe (on these trade issues anyway), and when he went to Pakistan (or India I can't remember which trip this actually was), I asked for a rug. He went with someone to the rug factory and saw the children working, he said some of them had a twitch in their arm from knotting the yarns that just kept going even though they had stopped working... some kind of psychological symptom. It was a while ago and I didn't know anything about the labor that produces these rugs. He decided then not to buy one.
