Aggregate, I don't know. But it looks like that latest R9100 firmware will handle a dial-up as a redundant access path. That was the final selling point for me.

I was just discussing 10/100 with a buddy of mine who is considerably more net-literate than I, and the upshot was that I don't run anything that will drive my lan faster than 10. Likely much less, certainly the cable modem speed is not of the right order to make 10/100 an issue. Best I've seen on the cable modem is 120kbs. Though I have been thinking about 10/100 ... just don't think I've got any justification beyond "why not". That will probably eventually work. But not just yet. <g>

I have had that "switch between wans" issue cross my radar. The pattern I've seen locally is that once cable enters an area, BellAtlantic (the plodding monopoly) begins to offer xDSL shortly thereafter. So I expect the issue to raise it's head. And of course I will *have* to have both being nearly the consummate electronics consumer. I you find a box/solution to aggregate two broadband sources, I would be very interested. I do know that one of the webramp models will aggregate several dial-up sources, but I haven't stumbled across similar function for "broadband."

Really, "slightly-wider band" would be more accurate for cable. Seems like "broadband" ought to be reserved for something that can do 7 figures of data flow rate. <g>

I will pass on how the R9100 install goes.
