I am not convinced. I know something about this area. A Type 1 diabetic should be testing 4 times per day. If the Watch is not accurate, and the fingerstick method has to be relied upon in any case, what is the point? Much of the problem with any ongoing therapy is patient compliance. If my watch is less than accurate, this means I am going to be sticking myself more, not less. So I would think I would adhere to the tried but true approach, listen to my CDE, and stick myself four times a day. Done deal. Another thought: If I were a CDE or a Endocrinologist, would I REALLY endorse this product if I in any way suspected it would lead to my patient being less compliant? i.e. NOT relying on the finger stick? No, I would not. Just my thoughts.
