I appreciate the thought, Lizzie. What actually will happen if we burn the rugs or ban their import? Do you think the youngsters will then be free to spend the day with milk and cookies, watching Barney and Tinky Winky? Probably not. Would you favor burning all the art in the Louvre if you discovered it had been produced by children working in inhumane conditions? Would you favor the destruction of historical monuments, temples and ruins if slave labor was used in their construction? It may be the wrong thing to do, but I'm probably going to buy the carpet.
