Iomega should be cautious not to announce the 200MB ZIP too soon. If it is announced prior to its being widely and immediately available in volume, I am afraid it will severely dampen the sales of 100 MB ZIPs. It would also place pricing pressure on the existing inventory of 100MB ZIPs. A premature announcement of the improved drive may also delay new OEM contracts. Iomega seems to be doing just fine right now with the 100MB drive.

I would rather see them announce a 100MB drive for notebook computers, and also start to market an internal IDE drive to the general public. At this time the only way I know to get the internal drive is through Micron Electronics, and they will sell only to owners of a Micron computer.
