To be sure I don't have a reason to believe Athlon is demand limited to 2Mu until Mid-2000.

But assuming you are right, here is a one recommendation that could fix that. Offer OEMs, say, a $100 additional discount on each Athlon used for a Business SKU as long as it is one of the top 3 speed grades. This is just one example. There are a lot of other ways AMD can stimulate demand. I can think of lot of PC OEMs who want a few more dollars of profit on their systems.
