ClearTrust SecureControl Access Management Suite to Leverage NDS eDirectory for Automated Security Administration
Securant Technologies-a leading developer of access management products for secure e-business-today announced that it has joined the Novell Partnership Program on the industry level and will conduct joint integration testing to ensure seamless interoperability with NDS(R) eDirectory(TM). This integration will allow ClearTrust SecureControl to directly link to and access user information contained in NDS eDirectory for enforcing security policies and controlling access to Web- and network-based applications and content. Through seamless integration with LDAP directories, like NDS eDirectory, ClearTrust SecureControl reduces administrator workloads, management costs and tightens security. This partnership will provide NDS eDirectory customers a high degree of interoperability and reliability with ClearTrust SecureControl. By directly accessing user information contained in NDS, ClearTrust SecureControl automates security policy enforcement and unifies the complete range of access management functions including authentication, authorization, access control, single sign-on, delegated administration and auditing for Web- and network-based resources. "NDS eDirectory is the directory of choice for customers building Intranet and Extranet applications," said Dave Shirk, vice president of product marketing, Novell, Inc. "ClearTrust SecureControl provides our customers with a scalable and comprehensive security infrastructure that leverages the rich level of content in NDS eDirectory to personalize and enforce enterprise security policies across both Web- and non-Web applications." "NDS is one of the most widely deployed directories in the industry for Intranet and Extranet applications," said Eric Olden, Chief Technology Officer, Securant Technologies. "ClearTrust SecureControl allows enterprises with NDS-based networks to maximize their directory investments and provides a comprehensive solution for centralizing and automating the management of security services across both Web and enterprise application environments."
About ClearTrust SecureControl
ClearTrust is an integrated, rules-based and directory-enabled suite of security products that provides a unified access management (UAM) infrastructure for secure e-business. The first product in the ClearTrust suite, SecureControl, is based on Internet standards and allows enterprises and service providers to centrally control user access - including access control, single sign-on, authentication, authorization, delegated administration and auditing - to Extranet, Intranet, Internet and networked applications. ClearTrust SecureControl uses Smart Rules(TM) technology and a resource-based security model to automate the administration of security policy for millions of users and provide dynamic updates to access control permissions based on actual business data. By using SmartRules to manage security on a resource-basis rather than a user basis, ClearTrust SecureControl dramatically reduces administrator workloads.
