Bux, I wonder if this can be fixed with software or it's embedded in the silicon? :-0 The algorithm, one of several which protect the GSM air interface is in the sim card. It is my understanding that a backup algorithm, also in the sim card, can be switched into use at very short notice by the network operators. In the longer term, a completely new algorithm can be introduced by replacing the sim cards. John
