I think this kind of situation hurts Gateway more than Dell. The problem for Gateway seems to be the lack of SKUs in the consumer price range because Intel is forcing an upsell.

Dell focusses on the high-end so they may even enjoy the upsell. Not being as heavily dependent on consumers as Gateway also helps.

I may have already beaten this thing to death in which case someone tell me and I will shut up.

P.S.: I have a mild concern that any Athlons that AMD ships to Gateway for this quarter might be lower speed bins for the above stated reasons which could mean lower ASPs.
