Thomas -
Excellent and concise. The answer to those questions would also be a good touchpoint for someone considering an investment in SUNW.

There are a number of straight mechanical execution tasks for SUNW - hit the product transitions, develop and maintain the storage strategy, continue development of the software stack that will win in the post-internet era.

More critical, I think, is correctly identifying where the center of gravity will be. For example, will ASPs form the new development and deployment infrastructure, or will ASP mania be the next "PEN Computing"? If the former, SUNW can make substantial investment in developing ASP infrastructure as a systems provider, and in fielding their own SW products as an ASP. If the latter, they need to make a hedge play and go hard after whatever the real infrastructure will be. That is probably a matter of both vision and luck, with the requirement to be able to make mid-course corrections faster than the next guy.
