SSB- Brocade first up with great attendence -Close to a full house at 8AM 100-120 people. Analyst just seem to eat Greg Reyes up but how long that lasts is up for discussion. Reyes did his usual chest beating routine -80% market share and we expect to be the clear cut leader -most ports -best scalability- won most show awards -(I thought he was going to pull out some blue ribbons<G> I guess after INTEL announcement (which I was not aware of till after the Brocade presentation) they had to come across as tough or something- Pulls out all the OEMs -Dell- CPQ- IBM and he basically says HP is a defacto OEM(through McData/he sees that relationship continuing) and Brocade is the defacto standard switch which is why they get picked so often(hey they got to the SANs first and Ancor had to match some of the features and then go one better)- Went on to say they expect that to continue as they have HP listed as an OEM on there slide presentation. The guy does walk the line- That I'll grant him. Add the fact that he basically said the competition sucked he made the point that FC has some killer applications in the future -(Yeah Ancor found that out today)- Yes and I swear I heard it from his mouth but I can't tell you word for word he got up there and said he passed on the Intel business- I thought I was going to choke right there- Really short on substance though he takes you through the Brocade switch line and why he thinks it's the best-but mostly long on Gorilla talk and hype- Pulled out his Gorilla chart if i remeber correctly- Brocade 3rd quarter revs versus the combined Revs of Ancor and Vixl switches- Brocade up there at 80% <LOL> Why does Greg Reyes walk the line?-Reyes brings up Keylabs and looks everyone in the room in the eye and then defends the report as being fair and accurate as well as controversial- I actually laughed for a split -second but held it in. Had a question about whether some of their OEMs would dual source but they ran out of time -Only question of the day i didn't have answered. Met Yahoo poster -Blue Circle Drive there so I'm sure he will give you a different take on todays events- I think I saw him talking to some of the SSB guys while I was talking to the speaker from SUN Brocade also got some nice words from the conference host speaker at the Breakfast as The huge market leader in Switched SANs - You begin to see what our little darling Ancor is up against sometimes. Next up -Met Ken and Steve before there presentation. We do have a great management team.
