Bernard: As a Canadian I was able to visit Cuba last August. Let me tell you that Jibacoa is fantastic. They already have a great hotel that is a joint venture between the Cuban government and an Italian company that built the hotel. It is the BREEZES Hotel in Jibacoa. We stayed there and had a great experience. From first hand experience let me tell you that the Cuban people are absolutely great. THE most friendly and hospitable that I have ever met. We got to know some of the locals as well as you can in a one week stay and from what I can gather they are indeed very well educated. It seems that is a priority. You know what they say about educated people--you can't keep them down forever. Most are anxiously waiting for better times and freedom. But it probably won't come easy or cheap. Count me in for the party--whenever it occurrs. (Should be on time if a CANADIAN company is building. Mind you they probably have tons of local problems to contend with). EH? Thanks, DOH. P.S. Nice thread. Have been following since the beginning.
