TRIIBoy initiates coverage of CYGN with a "Run For the Hills The Cattle Are Dying" rating. Short after what I expect will be a pop on the opening. Once the stock weakens move in for the kill.

Company got approval for a device that monitors glucose levels and it does not do a very good job of that.

"The device is intended for use at home and in health care facilities as an adjunctive device to supplement, not replace, information obtained from standard home blood glucose monitoring devices.

"But the advisers stressed the GlucoWatch is not perfect: It sometimes gives erroneous readings, won't measure when the patient perspires too much, and is less effective at detecting life-threateningly low blood sugar than at spotting dangerous high glucose levels."

From TheStreet.com:

But Andrew Drexler, director of the Mount Sinai Diabetes Center in New York, said he was skeptical that GlucoWatch would prove to be highly accurate in detecting exact changes in patients' blood-sugar levels.

"My sense from what I've seen is it's not going to be the breakthrough we're looking for," Drexler said. "It's an advance, but how accurate it will be I'm not sure."

Cygnus said in a statement GlucoWatch was not intended to replace other monitoring devices.

Lets see if insurance companies like reimbursing a supplemental device that costs $200 and its accuracy is in question...

Short until the cows come home...
