The NT connection to ANTC is strictly related to its joint venture in Arris Interactive. NT has also been involved with Antec in previous joint ventures that have either been absorbed or dissolved over time. NT has about 80 to 85% interest in Arris Interactive, the remainder is Antec's stake. Cornerstone Voice in fact uses major components from Nortel's access products to provide the HFC telephone system. What Nortel did not have, Arris and Antec contributed on the RF side. A great combination of telephone and RF expertise brought together into one set of products.

Today's cut was another example of overreaction to a media event. So an analyst heard that AT&T thought Antec's products cost too much (at least that's the version I've heard from this thread). Common sense will tell you that any customer will always think that a supplier's prices are too high. This has been a common theme throughout the history of the cable industry! It's always been like this and some genius analyst discovers this fact of cable nature today and announces it to the world? Thereby trashing the stock in a day?

Please remember the last time this happened and it lost 11+. Since that "problem" had been grossly overhyped, it had since recovered nicely almost back to where it had been. Now this. Another overblown non-event. This latest cut makes ANTEC a screaming buy. IMO of course. And remember that I do work for ANTEC in its Digital Systems division now.
