Of course you can't blame them. I don't either. They've got to take care of No. 1.

But reading this schtick and the sometimes awful spin, even between the lines, becomes insulting at some point. Then again, if the cablecos ever told it like it is, and took a hard line stand, then Kennard would get on his Metricom and start e-mailing so fast that the MSOs' federal house of cards would come down on them in a matter of seconds. It's really rather intriguing how this whole unspoken thing works.

And this is, after all, the tension that makes this whole matter so much fun.
