I would never classify Selwyn as a loser. To take a concept from paper to a $50 Mill company with lots of cash and past profitability and good base of product platforms are not what I consider underachieving! You need different type of managers at different stage of corporate development. Clearly Selwyn is a product guy and he did his job..........now we will see if the new marketing guy can do his job and finish what Selwyn started. I have lot more respect for guys like Selwyn than corporate managers who are hire to repoint the ship. The creative process is ALWAYS more difficult than the Management process in general.
