you have more energy than I. I got home, Boston and crashed. N.Y. was packed! Getting a hotel almost impossible. (Un)fortunately I also own HOT(el) and with the platinum and a couple of calls, got a room at another sheraton,nice smaller hotel.
You have posted everything just great, almost like being there in person !
You ONLY forgot what for Ken was THE and FIRST piece of great news he announced !............his daughter just had twins !!!! Then he added.......sort of as an aside........."and you guys must have heard about the intel news....." what a guy !!!!!! TOTALLY real.

I figured you would be sitting at the ancr table. I was the fellow sitting right next to Ken.
To test the waters after Ken's presentation I asked the Smith Barney people and their investor(my friend who organized my last minute invitation and came in from MD to meet me and take me in), who's presentation they liked better, who impressed them most. After all Reyes presentation had been very impressive vaporware, and this gentleman from Minnesota was so different than all the other presenters ( mostly also CEO's or pres etc.) So very relaxed, laid back, totally unpretentious, totally a warm human being ! I wanted to see what they thought. The response was very strong, immediate. They felt that Ken was totally real and that he inspired great confidence. His relaxed manner, his total self confidence transpired clearly.
One fact that I did not see reported here is that in answering one of the questions he went outy of his way to clarify that there was no Exclusivity in their relationship with Sun ( I think he called it the E word ). He said clearly and simply something along..." we have a great working relationship and they can buy and sell whichever switch they wish, and we can sell to whoever we want also."
End of story. End of bull .

I did not have the courage to post before this last week, but I have been with little minnetonka since apr-may 96. It's been a rough ride !

I think life is magic ! Yeasterday was the Biggest Investment Day of my life. What a coincidence........I was sitting next to the team who made this possible !.....and by the way, Steven Snyder was a most pleasant straight forward person also. When he answered questions he was direct and right to the point.
The only thing I wish happened also, was to know who you were Dr.Elder !

as an afterthought..........Ken yesterday must have made more $ than anyday in his ( and most people's) life. He was glad to be there and he was obviously relaxed and satisfyed, but amazingly normal, simple, and totally real. |
